LE PUY GRIOU
The Puy Griou is a place that offers a beautiful perspective of the relief and wide-open spaces of Saint-Jacques-des-Blats.
Puy Griou (1,694 metres above sea level) has a conical shape that can be recognised from afar. It overlooks the Cère and Jordanne valleys. You have to climb step by step up the enormous phonolite stones that cover its summit, topping it with a majestic grey hat. It offers a beautiful perspective of the relief and the wide open spaces. It can be reached from the Col du Perthus, the Col de Cère or from the village of Les Chazes in the commune of Saint-Jacques-des-Blats. Beware, the final ascent is difficult and requires a certain caution.
