The airport of Barahona is located at 5 km of the downtown area. It serves Santo Domingo all year round, and San Juan in high season. This small airport was used for some time as a runway for international aid to Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. The site is named after the famous Dominican actress Montez (1912-1951), who was born in Barahona. No restaurant service on site.
