Inspire DR is a community school offering a wide range of activities to local underprivileged children. They have access to computer, language, swimming and carpentry courses... A great advantage is that tourists are invited to volunteer their skills to run the workshops. A system of exchange in exchange for temporary accommodation and hours in the social center can also be envisaged! It's a great way to get up close and personal with the locals, and get a feel for the social issues at stake. You can also make a donation.
