Inaugurated by President Evo Morales on May 30, 2014, the cable car linking La Paz to El Alto (from 3,600 to 4,095 m above sea level) is the highest urban line in the world. This new mode of transport is a small revolution for the inhabitants used to chaotic public transport and monster traffic jams. From now on, you can go all the way around the city in a cable car! The small cabins of the red line run from the bottom of the city to the El Alto feria in just 10 minutes; they offer a breathtaking view of the city.
