It is the main theatre of the city and the place where the great classical music recitals, operas and ballets take place. Inaugurated in 1845, it is the oldest theatre in South America! Inspired by the Venetian theatres, it was designed by the architect José Nuñez del Prado. Its facade has been modified seven times, but its hall has kept its original architecture, except for some changes made in 1861. Don't hesitate to ask about the programme!
