CATEDRAL METROPOLITANA NUESTRA SEÑORA DE LA PAZ
Neoclassical and Baroque cathedral dating from 1835, which replaces the one from 1692 and houses a museum of religious art
Apart from its beautiful museum of religious art and the businesses below it (which pay rent directly to the church), the cathedral has nothing extraordinary. The first church on this site was built in 1692, then completely demolished in 1832. The neoclassical and baroque cathedral that we see today dates from 1835. The two side towers were inaugurated in 1989, on the occasion of the visit of Pope John Paul II.
