MERCADO RODRÍGUEZ
Lively market during the weekends mixing sellers, buyers, aymaras, colors and flavors including those of exotic fruits
Very lively at weekends, when it takes over the surrounding streets. Products are divided into sectors. A lively ballet of cholas, trying to sell their junk, cleaning ladies from wealthy families, and porters who, for a few bolivianos a day, push loads of impressive weight and volume. It's a ball of colors and flavors, lulled by Aymara and Spanish idioms. It's also the perfect time to discover exotic fruits such as chirimoyas (anone), tumbo, pacay and even pink bananas.
