PLAZA MURILLO
Square housing the presidential palace, the Congress with the clock hands turning backwards and the cathedral of La Paz
Designed in 1548, the Plaza Murillo is the center of the political power of the country. If the capital of Bolivia is officially located in Sucre, it is here, around this square, that we find the presidential palace - nicknamed Palacio Quemado (burnt palace) - and the Congress (Palacio Legislativo), where the two legislative assemblies of the country sit. An original detail: the hands of the clock of the Congress turn the opposite way to ours, with an inverted numbering. The cathedral of La Paz completes the decor and is next to the presidential palace.
