AKAPANA PIRÁMIDE
Pyramid in steps with 7 levels with a beautiful view from the top, the entrance on the side where there were sculptures in basalt of Chachapuma
This imposing stepped pyramid has seven levels and a perimeter of 800 m. At the top, there was a semi-subterranean temple that would have had a cruciform, stepped plan evoking the Andean cross. If it no longer resembles a pyramid, except in some places, it is the fault of Ollaydeburo, a greedy Spanish miner who dug and dug and dug in the hope of finding gold. The main access to this monument is located to the west, where there were black basalt sculptures of "Chachapuma", the man-cum-muma. Very nice panoramic view of the site from the top.
