AKAPANA PIRÁMIDE
Pyramid in steps with 7 levels with a beautiful view from the top, the entrance on the side where there were sculptures in basalt of Chachapuma
This imposing seven-level stepped pyramid has a perimeter of 800m. At the top, there was a semi-subterranean temple that would have had a cruciform, stepped plan evoking the Andean cross. If it no longer resembles a pyramid, except in certain places, it's the fault of Ollaydeburo, a greedy Spanish miner who dug and dug and dug in the hope of finding gold. The main access to the monument is to the west, where black basalt sculptures of "Chachapuma", the man-cum-puma, once stood. Beautiful panoramic view of the site from the summit.
