LA HORCA DEL INCA
Astronomical observatory dating from the time of the Chiripas, with a stone block in the middle and rocky cliffs in front
500 meters from Copacabana, on the Calvario del Niño, there is an astronomical observatory dating from around 1764 B.C., at the time of the Chiripas. A huge stone block 6 m high was dug vertically in its middle, so as to give the impression of two distinct blocks. Across these two blocks, at a height of 4,5 m, was put a stone of rectangular form. Right in front of it: two rocky cliffs. On the day of the winter solstice (June 21), the first rays of the sun pass through the hole and come to align themselves on the rectangular stone.
