ORKOJAWIRA
Archaeological site with stone blocks on the Orkojahuira river bank, place of celebration of rites related to the Sun God
Discovered only in 1967, Orkojawira has the same characteristics as the neighbouring archaeological site of Intikala, and is located 200 m from the latter. We can see three blocks of stone, on the edge of the river Orkojahuira ("strong river" in Aymara language), where were formerly Inca ceramics dedicated to religious ceremonies. On this site would have been celebrated rites dedicated to the Sun God. Continuing south, we arrive at the astronomical observatory of the Kesanani hill, known as Horca del Inka (Inca gallows).
