VOLCÁN POMERAPE
An interesting stratovolcano, rising to between 6,222 and 6,248 metres, with a fine 35° ascent.
The stratovolcano Pomerape, less picturesque than Parinacota, is also part of the Nevados de Payachatas range. It is a little-known but very interesting peak that reaches between 6,222 m and 6,248 m (sources differ). It is located on the Chilean side. It offers a beautiful 35° ascent route.
From Sajama in Bolivia, same base camp as the Parinacota. At the pass, simply turn right (left for the Parinacota). The departure is around 2-3 am and the ascent is done in the day, round trip.
