MUSEO SACRO, FOLKLÓRICO, ARQUEOLÓGICO Y MINERO
Museum in an abandoned mine, exhibiting objects and evoking the importance of certain beliefs and ceremonies of the miners
This sacred, folkloric, archaeological and mining museum includes a tour (in Spanish) of an abandoned mine converted into a museum displaying objects and recounting the importance of certain miners' beliefs and ceremonies. Don't miss the two shrines dedicated to El Tío. These are usually made of minerals found in the mine, and embody the devil who haunts the tunnels. He is worshipped with offerings of flower necklaces, alcohol, coca, cigarettes, etc. One room features carnival costumes.
