CRISTO DE LA CONCORDIA
This magnificent white Christ, erected above the city's botanical garden, overlooks the city from the top of its 40.4 meters
Erected above the city's botanical gardens, this magnificent white Christ towers over the city at a height of 40.4 meters. It is said to be the second highest Christ in the world, behind the Cristo Rey de Świebodzin in Poland (and its 52.5 meters!), slightly ahead of Rio de Janeiro's Christ the Redeemer (and its 38 meters)! For another great view of the city, head for the La Coronilla monument, dedicated to the women who fought against Goyeneche's Spanish army on May 27, 1812. Beware of pickpockets.
