CRISTO DE LA CONCORDIA
This magnificent white Christ, erected above the city's botanical garden, overlooks the city from the top of its 40.4 meters
Erected above the city's botanical garden, this magnificent white Christ towers over the city at a height of 40.4 meters. It is said to be the second highest Christ in the world, behind the Cristo Rey of Świebodzin in Poland (and its 52.5 meters high!) but slightly ahead of the Christ the Redeemer of Rio de Janeiro (and its 38 meters)! For another beautiful view of the city, go to the monument of La Coronilla, dedicated to the women who fought on May 27, 1812 against the Spanish army of Goyeneche. Be careful around the statue, pickpockets are prowling.
