To the north of the city, this national park created in 1962 covers more than 3,000 km². The park is inhabited by 80,000 people from the Aymara and Quechua communities. Three tourist areas are mainly exploited: a recreational area 10 km from the city with trails and waterfalls, the site of las cabañas de Cruzan 15 km away where ancestral agricultural techniques can be observed, and the thermal waters of Liriuni, 20 km from the city. It is best to get there early to walk the long trails, so remember to bring water, snacks and a cap!
