IGLESIA SAN MARTIN
The church of San Martín is located in the upper part of the city, on Calle Hoyos
This church is located in the upper part of the city, in Calle Hoyos, the street that goes up (and up) from the cathedral. At the end of the climb, you will find one of the most beautiful altars in the country. It comes from the church of Salinas de Yocalla, a small parish on the outskirts of Potosí. This is where the indigenous people gather: they painted the frescoes in the choir and dressed the Copacabana Virgin with pearls from Lake Titicaca. Very fine building that deserves a visit.
A mix of Renaissance style outside and baroque for the interior
a bright altar covered with gold. In the sacristy the virgin of COPACABANA wears a dress dotted with beads from Lake TITICACA
