This cemetery of several trains of the beginning of the century, is located at the exit of the city

Uyuni was once an important railway junction and continues to be so today, as it remains the only railway junction in the country! On the outskirts of the city, there is a cemetery of several trains from the beginning of the century. The old steam locomotives and the rusty wagons standing in the middle of the arid landscape, with the mountain range in the background, offer a unique and unforgettable spectacle. Unfortunately, the visits are done mainly at the beginning of the circuit of the Salar and all the tourists are found on the site at the same time...

Un cimetière de trains qui vaut le détour même si très touristiques.
Reflète bien l'ère industrielle du pays
a waste collection centre rusty trains, full of bags bins, waste. that have become aware that to protect the environment is everywhere in the world on all levels. and that it is not at all their priority what this includes.
These old trains in the middle of the desert extent obviously impress but I however expected that there are more engines. Moreover, the place is rather dirty (empty bottle and plastic bag scrap which trails on the slope, stagnation point 4X4 of expedition). This place is the image of the glorious past of Bolivia, during the industrial era. And it is that it is worth a visit.
