It is the most emblematic church of the city, perched on the heights of Calle General Trigo. Built in 1606, it houses a library with 15,000 books of great historical value as well as a museum "Fray Francisco Miguel Mari" exhibiting religious paintings from the colonial period, the most famous of which is that of San Francisco dating from 1680. At night, it is illuminated with the colors of the Bolivian flag. It is here that the biggest festival of Tarija, the Fiesta de San Roque, takes place every year on August 16th
