CATEDRAL DE SAN BERNARDO DE TARIJA

The Cathedral of Tarija preserves one of Bolivia's most surprising religious statues. It is the «Cristo de Churitos», a Christ cut in wood and made from strands and eucalyptus seeds. The rather expressive work is due to a craftsman of the north of the Tarija Valley. Inside, you will also find decorations based on grape clusters, referring to the many cultures of the region whose Franciscans are originally.
