Patron Saint Xavier's Day, celebrated with pomp and circumstance at San Javier de Chiquitos, the Jesuit mission in the Santa Cruz region. The festival begins with a mass and a cultural evening with native dancers. Then at the midnight vigil, the village queen is crowned. On the second day another mass is celebrated, followed by a procession. A market of food and handicrafts from the region is held in the main square. In the evening, musicians take place and the party for the general public can begin!
