ICTÍCOLA DEL BENI MUSEUM
Museum with Amazonian species preserved in jars with formalin, the centerpiece is the paiche, an Amazonian fish
To the north of the city, on the university campus, the Universidad Técnica del Beni Mariscal José Ballivian. Impressive exhibition of Amazonian species, fish, dolphins, rays, piranhas and snakes, preserved in huge jars filled with formaldehyde (more than 420 species). You won't regret it! The centerpiece of the place is an Amazonian fish, the paiche, whose exposed specimen weighs more than 110 kg and is more than two meters long! A little further on, a few aquariums if you have time...
