It was here, on October 9 and 10, 1967, in the heart of this hospital, that the Bolivian army exposed the body of the legendary revolutionary to the world's media, thus providing official proof of his death. To see where Che's body was laid in state, go around the hospital building to the old laundry. Ask for "la lavandería" - everyone knows it. Be careful, though, as the hospital is still in working order. You'll probably pass open rooms where patients rest on their beds. So silence is the order of the day.
