PANTEÓN DE SAN FERNANDO
This cimetère houses the remains of many characters who played an important role in Mexico in the th century, including President Benito Juárez and his wife Margarita Maza, and those of Francisco González Bocanegra, author of the Mexican national anthem. Originally, it was only a small informal cemetery where monks of the convent of San Fernando and supporters of this religious institution were buried, but in 1832, it became one of the most popular cemeteries in the capital. It is also one of the oldest cemeteries in the city, which is why it is catalogued as a historic monument.
