Works by sculptor Ernesto Tamariz and architect Enrique Aragón, who pays tribute to the 6 cadets of the military college who lost their lives rather than to the American invader during the US invasion of Mexico in 1847. History tells us that, seeing the bodies of the deceased cadets, an American officer exclaimed: " But these are only children! ", hence the name Roommate Heroes. The monument was inaugurated in 1952 and is highly symbolic. Women in the centre represent the Fatherland and the 6 columns of deceased cadets.
