Founded by the Cartographic Department of Mexico in 1877, the Mapoteca Manuel is located in the headquarters of the National Meteorological Service. It contains more than 150,000 documents and topographic maps dating mainly from the 19th century, including a huge synoptic natural history chart that represents the mineral, animal and plant kingdoms in the form of a tree. The guided tours are extremely entertaining and the professionalism of the staff is remarkable.
