Museum with a huge collection and high quality temporary exhibitions
Formerly the Casa de Moneda de la Nueva España, this is a large museum whose origins go back as far as the time of Independence, when interest in the country's pre-Hispanic past began to emerge. Administered by the National Institute of History and Anthropology (INAH), it is a window on the world, cultural diversity and exchange. The building houses a souvenir store, a library and a cafeteria for visitors' use.

Dans cet imposant bâtiment colonial, on y trouve en autre une intéressante section d'arts asiatiques. A voir également la peinture murale Revolucion de Rufino Tamayo.
