MUSEO DE MEDICINA - PALACIO DE LA INQUISICIÓN
The Palacio de la Escuela de Medicina is an imposing baroque construction built between 1732 and 1736 to house the siege of the terrible Inquisition; its implementation is symptomatic of its political and social importance: between a church and the central customs of the country. For 84 years, the Tribunal of the Saint-Office was going to sit there until it was closed in 1820. Converted to medical school in 1854, we were going to give courses for almost 102 years. Today, the collection of this museum is vast and diverse: it reflects the relationship of medicine to body through different eras and disciplines. It includes the reconstitution of a pharmacy of the xixe, herbalism, medicine and pre-Hispanic epidemiology, etc. Temporary exhibitions linking artistic creation with the theme of medicine.
