CENTRAL ALAMEDA PARK
The Alameda, the oldest park in the city, is the traditional place for family walks during the weekends
The Alameda is the oldest park in the city. It was created by the Spaniards in 1592 and named Alameda because the first trees to be planted were alamos ("poplars"). The Inquisition had its pyre on the west side of the park, in San Diego Square, where it carried out many public executions. To the south, facing Juárez Avenue, is the Great Hemicycle to Benito Juárez. This monument made of Carrara marble was inaugurated in 1910 on the occasion of the centenary of the independence. It is the traditional place for family walks on weekends.

Flânerie, mais aussi culture : une exposition présente lors de mon passage a agrémenté la balade.
