PARQUE NACIONAL CUMBRES DEL AJUSCO
Ajusco, located at 3,930 m above sea level, is the highest point in the Valley of Mexico
The Ajusco is a volcano located south of Mexico City. The flanks of the volcano are covered by a pine and oak forest which serves as a refuge for several species endemic to the Mexico Valley, including the teporingo rabbit and the "mounted gato". The location is ideal for walking, horse riding or cycling. Furthermore, along the Picacho-Ajusco road, there are several tourist infrastructures: The Ajusco is also the highest point in the Mexico valley (3 930 m above sea level), so in some places there is a beautiful panoramic view of the city.
