CATEDRAL OF MORELIA

Cathedral that dominates the Plaza de Armas, combining Heresque, Baroque and Neoclassical styles in Morelia.
Its construction lasted a century (1640-1744). This beautiful building overlooking the Place d'Armes combines the Herreresque, Baroque and Neoclassical architectural styles. Its twin towers are a perfect illustration of this. The baroque bas-reliefs of the interior were replaced by neoclassical pieces in the 19th century. Of note is a large organ with 4,600 pipes or flutes. On Saturday evening, the cathedral is illuminated, and it is the magicians of the Eiffel Tower who have installed the 10,000 bulbs that allow it to sparkle.
