José Maria Morelos y Pavón, «El Generalísimo», one of the Mexican independence figures, was born in September 1765, in the house which makes the corner of Corregidora and García Obeso. But we must know that the house that is now visiting is not the original, since it was destroyed in 1888. Two rooms are reserved for Morelos's faits, while a library, auditorium and projection room occupy the rest of the house. The museum hosts numerous cultural and cinematographic events.
Corregidora Street, where Casa Natal de Morelos is located, is very well known because it is where the mariachi meet in the evening.
