ANTIGUO TEMPLO DE LA COMPAÑÍA DE JESÚS
Temple with a church that still contains some interesting paintings from the eighteenth century in Patzcuaro.
It housed the members of the Society of Jesus, who came to the diocese of Michoacán through the efforts of Don Vasco de Quiroga. It is said that the clock on its tower was banished from Spain for telling an unhappy hour to one of the country's monarchs; the church still contains some interesting 18th century paintings. The former convent now houses the Casa de Cultura, a renowned engraving and lithography workshop and beautiful exhibition rooms.
