PLAZUELA SAN FRANCISCO
Pleasant little shady square with trees, whose heart is a stone fountain in Patzcuaro
Here you are in a pleasant little shady square with a stone fountain at its heart. A bust of Doña Margarita Maza de Juárez, wife of former president Don Benito Juárez, can also be seen here. Every Friday morning, a handicraft market is held in the square, selling pottery, wicker baskets and flowers. Every summer the square is the centre of the CantoyaFest, a festival in which huge, beautifully decorated paper balloons take to the air.
