Tour to Monte Alban without taking part in a guided tour in Oaxaca
If you don't have a vehicle to get to Monte Albán but don't want to take a guided tour, the Lescas Co Tours are a great option. You have to go to the Hotel Rivera del Angel (a 10-minute walk from the Zócalo), which has a dedicated kiosk, to buy your tickets. The vans leave every hour, in both directions. If you call them, they can also pick you up at the Zócalo. The bus will drop you off right next to the entrance to the archaeological zone.
