ARQUITOS DE XOCHIMILCO
A neighborhood that offers a pleasant stroll in a picturesque setting in Oaxaca.
In the oldest part of the city, the Barrio de Xochimilco, are the remains of the old Oaxacan aqueduct. The San Felipe Aqueduct was built in the mid-18th century and supplied the city with water until 1940. Away from the crowds of the historic center, although less than a ten minute walk from the Templo de Santo Domingo de Guzmán, this area offers a pleasant stroll through a picturesque setting. Walk up Calle García Vigil, then wander through the narrow streets, not forgetting to slip under the arches.
