MUSEO DE ARTE CONTEMPORÁNEO DE OAXACA (MACO)
A museum that exhibits the works of native artists, with a beautiful boutique-bookstore with many art books
Inaugurated in 1992, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo is housed in a beautiful colonial house built in the 1700s. In addition to interesting exhibitions of contemporary art, it periodically exhibits the works of indigenous artists (Rufino Tamayo, Francisco Toledo, Rodolfo Morales, Rodolfo Nieto and Francisco Gutiérrez). The museum has a beautiful bookstore with many art books. A must-see, both for the collections and the building.
