It is the oldest café-restaurant in the country, since its origins date back to 1808, when a small place located in front of the cathedral served pulque, coffee, wine and other small dishes with European influences. It is even said that Porfirio Diaz came here to have breakfast before boarding the ship that would take him into exile. Here, one enters and sits directly where one wants and one tinkles one's spoon on one's glass to call the waiter who will come to serve the hot milk (quite a show)...
