MUSEUM OF ANTHROPOLOGY
Museum of Anthropology of Mexico with a collection of civilizations from the area and Olmec works
Created in 1937, it is the second Anthropology Museum of Mexico (Pre-Columbian civilizations) by its size and the richness of its collections: over 29,000 pieces of which 2,500 are exhibited in 18 galleries, 6 rooms and 4 patios. The collection focuses on civilizations from the area currently covered by the state of Veracruz: beautiful olechs (famous giant heads), totonaques (El Tajín), huaxtec. Nice setting, beautiful park. The current building was built in 1986 by Edward Durell Stone, a New York architect.
