Site in Los Tuxtlas, with carved stones with three steles of volcanic stone, representing various mythological scenes
Located on the banks of the Hueyepan River, the site comprises three groups of buildings. Its importance is due in part to the fact that the first giant Olmec head was discovered there in 1862. The village has an interesting museum. The carved stones found at the site, including the giant head and three volcanic stone stelae depicting various mythological scenes, clay and ceramic objects, and human bones are on display.

The museum is not in the archaeological area itself but in the village itself.
For the archaeological area, ask for a taxi to take you to " Loma Camila " a large hill in a field. You can walk there also with these details: 18.4784, - 95.4361
Top, peaceful views over the fields of sugar cane and herds of cows.
