PARQUE MUSEO LA VENTA
Museum with monumental sculptures of the Olmec civilization, including the famous giant heads of the archaeological site.
This extremely well documented open-air museum was founded in 1958, when archaeologists, alerted by the threat of oil exploitation in the region, decided to protect the exceptional heritage of the site. It houses one of the monumental sculptures of the Olmec civilization, including the famous giant heads of the archaeological site La Venta. It also hosts a zoo of questionable quality that you can bypass by going on the main trail. Arrive early in the morning, as traffic increases dramatically in the afternoon.
