MOISSAC CHURCH
Between Chalinargues and Neussargues, the charming little village of Moissac faces the spectacular Laval Rock, a 4.5 million year old magmatic mass. Its 12th century Romanesque church was redesigned in the 15th and 16th centuries. It is distinguished by its combed bell tower served by a curious exterior staircase. Inside do not miss the frescoes, the jacquary tomb (of a pilgrim of Santiago de Compostela), or the polychrome pulpit. Classified as a historical monument and yet unknown, this church is worth a visit! Starting from Chalinargues, the hike "Le sentier des vieilles pierres" also proposes to pass through the village of Mons and its beautiful stone cross, also listed, and the prehistoric caves of Cuzers. Thirteen kilometres for a stroll where nature and heritage are breathtaking!
