LAGUNA DE SAN IGNACIO
One of the sanctuaries where the gray whale breeds and gives birth to calves, an ideal place for ecotourism
The Laguna de San Ignacio is located 55 kilometers west of the village of San Ignacio. It is one of the sanctuaries where the gray whale reproduces and gives birth to calves (from mid-December to April). It is part of the Vizcaino Biosphere Reserve and is also a refuge for many species of birds and mammals. It is therefore an ideal place to practice ecotourism. Several agencies in San Ignacio organize excursions to the lagoon; otherwise, go directly to the lagoon to find a boat. Possibility of camping.
