One of the three known marine geysers in the world, located on the rocky promontory of Punta Banda
About 35 km south of Ensenada, on the rocky promontory of Punta Banda, the Bufaradora is one of the three known marine geysers in the world (another is in Hawaii, another on the eastern coast of Africa). At high tide, the water rises in a jet that sometimes reaches 20 m high. This phenomenon can also be observed from the sea, by taking a kayak trip. It is when the air that rushes in and gets trapped in a sea cave is rejected by the force of the waves that the phenomenon occurs.
