TEATRO DEGOLLADO
Imposing neoclassical theater, built between 1856 and 1866, named after the governor of the state of Jalisco
This majestic neoclassical theater, built between 1856 and 1866, bears the name of the governor of the state of Jalisco who ordered its construction. It is currently home to the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra. The hall is so splendid that it would be a shame not to take advantage of its program. Take time to admire the vault, sumptuously decorated with a fresco depicting the fourth melody of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, a pictorial work masterfully executed by Jacobo Gálvez and Gerardo Suárez.
