HOTEL BELMAR
A big classic! Mazatlán was formerly an unknown resort, a harbour with some beautiful beaches. In the 1940 s, Hollywood personalities - Humphrey Bogart, Katherine Hepburn, or Howard Hughes - fleeing the public scene, fled to Mazatlán to quietly pursue their privacy. Ernest Hemingway was also involved in wholesale fishing. All of them went to the best hotel in the city, the Belmar. Today, as in the Splendour of the Amberson, the Belmar is no longer the best institution of the city, but simply one of the cheapest. With its maze of corridors connecting the different wings of the establishment, the Belmar has both charm and character, combined with the logic of a dream and a pinch of mystery. But to be warned, it would need a little bit of a new shot.
