BASILICA DE LA INMACULADA CONCEPCION
The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception located in Mazatlan, with an interior offering a mosaic of architectural styles
Started in 1856, the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception was consecrated in 1937 to the Purísima Concepción, the patron saint of the city. Its façade is of Gothic inspiration and it dominates the Plaza Central. The interior offers a mosaic of architectural styles where Gothic (in the centre), Neoclassical (on the sides) and Baroque, exuberant in the decoration, are combined. With its two towers in the colour of the sun, it is the emblem of the city.
