On the island of Crestón, near the port, at an altitude of 157 metres. Since 1571, it has performed its functions as the world's highest natural lighthouse after Gibraltar. The tower at its top only took its current form in 1930, about ten years after gas lamps were replaced by electric filaments. It can be reached in less than twenty minutes by foot from the historic centre, via the seaside promenade known as the Paseo Centenario. Magnificent view over the port and the city from the hill.
