Harmonious cathedral, baroque style and one of the most beautiful examples of colonial architecture in northern Mexico
Harmonious, refined and well-balanced, this baroque cathedral took almost a century to complete, since construction began in 1725. Its façade, which illuminates the Plaza de Armas at night, is a delight. The interior, in Doric style, with sixteen Corinthian columns, is a model of simplicity. For many, the Cathedral of Chihuahua is one of the finest examples of colonial architecture in northern Mexico.
