It is a very pretty lake with crystal clear waters, surrounded by conifers and located on the edge of the raramuri community of San Ignacio. Those who wish to camp there or rent cabins must book directly at the Arareko cooperative's offices in Creel. Possibility to organize hiking or horseback riding with local guides. In winter, the temperature can drop well below freezing. Most day trips from Creel stop there for a few minutes before continuing to Cusarare.
