This museum presents the archaeological finds bequeathed by the sedentary tribes and cultures that inhabited the territory of Durango and neighbouring states before the conquest (Zacatecas, Jalisco, Nayarit, Sinaloa). There are very interesting ceramic pieces (including an original pipe collection), reproductions of petroglyphs and rock paintings discovered in Durango State as well as a labyrinth of tombs reconstructed on the first floor. The museography is intended to be original but would deserve a little youthfulness.
